E/R: Police Report Calm in Boadua after Arrest of 8 in Chieftaincy Clash

The police say calm has been restored in Boadua in the Eastern Region after unrest over the weekend.

According to an issued statement, the Eastern South Regional Police Command swiftly intervened to restore calm in the chieftaincy dispute, which had the propensity to escalate across the entire community.

It reported the arrest of eight suspects for causing damage to the Boadua Chief’s palace and shrine in an attempt to take over the Palace from the Bretuo Family.

The suspects are said to be a group of people from the Boadua Aduana Family.

Their arrest followed a formal complaint by the Bretuo Abusuapanin of Boadua.

The suspects have been identified as Baffour Kwame Agyei Kwabena Twum, Baffour Kwame Annor, Baffour Koff Dankwa, Maxwell Frimpong, Eric Dankwah, Nana Kwaku Frimpong, Baffour Kwasi Ampaabong, and Baffour Yaw Anya.

“The suspects have been granted police enquiry bail and will be arraigned on Thursday, December 18, 2025.”
