E/R: Police Officer Killed as Two Others Survive Highway Accident

A police officer has perished in a highway accident involving a police Rhino Kia mini truck at Aseseso in the Eastern Region.
The vehicle was carrying three occupants, including the deceased, who was driving when he lost control due to a gear lever fault, according to the Ghana National Fire Service.
It noted that this occurred as the vehicle was descending the Aseseso hill, heading from Begoro to Ashiaman.
Firefighters from Kpong Municipal Fire Station responded to a distress call about the accident on March 21, 2026.
They promptly rescued two survivors, who were conveyed to Yilo Krobo District Hospital for treatment.
“The prompt response of the fire crew ensured timely medical attention for the injured. The incident highlights the importance of vehicle maintenance and road safety measures,” it reported.
