E/R: NAIMOS Arrests Galamsey Kingpin at Osino

The National Anti-Illegal Mining Operations Secretariat (NAIMOS) task force has arrested a prime suspect in illegal mining activities at Osino in the Eastern Region.

Identified as Iddrisu Zakari, his arrest was effected on Monday, November 10, 2025, around 6 pm.

He was arrested at Bonsu after agreeing to meet with operatives from NAIMOS to negotiate the release of his thugs- 32 Nigerien nationals and four Ghanaian machete-wielding guards- who were arrested on November 7.

According to a NAIMOS statement, he intended to halt the ongoing investigation into his activities.

“IDDRISU ZAKARI has since been handed over to the Ghana Police Service for further investigations.”
