The Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) has attributed the Asamankese accident that claimed one life to brake failure.

The accident on August 6, 2025, involved a Howa truck and two Hyundai Grace mini buses.

In a statement, the GNFS said the truck suffered brake failure, crashed into the buses, damaged a fuel dispenser pump, and destroyed two metal container shops.

“The fire crew, led by ASTNO Dominic Asiedu, deployed dry chemical powder extinguishers to prevent a possible explosion and ensured the area was safe.”

Meanwhile it reported that one person perished.

“Unfortunately, a male passenger who was rushed to the hospital prior to their arrival was later confirmed dead.”
