E/R: Ambulance Accident Leaves Four Injured

An ambulance accident at Afosu, in the Birim North Municipality in the Eastern Region, has left four injured.

It is unclear if a patient was among the victims in the incident on October 11, 2025, but it was from Nkawkaw.

The Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) in a statement cited brake failure as the cause.

“The incident involved a National Ambulance Service vehicle from Nkawkaw, which suffered brake failure and somersaulted multiple times.”

The victims were rescued and transported to the New Abirem Government Hospital for medical attention after personnel of the New Abirem Municipal Fire Station responded to the incident.

“The fire crew cleared blood stains from the road and salvaged vital medical items, including a fire extinguisher, ventilator, cardiac monitor, chest compression device, stethoscope, and telephone.”
