DVLA Clients to Make Car Number Reservations Before Completing Registration From 2026

The Driver and Vehicle Licensing Authority (DVLA) is set to introduce a new vehicle licensing regime next year.

“Starting from 2026, DVLA will introduce a new system called DVLA SELECT,” it announced in a notice on Tuesday.

It explained that the system will enable clients to choose and reserve their preferred vehicle registration numbers online.

By this, clients will then proceed to the DVLA office to complete the full registration.

It noted that the public will be updated in due course on the processes.
