Driver and Mate Bolt After Interception Of Vehicle With 36 Bags of Suspected Narcotics

A driver and his mate escaped after their vehicle, carrying 36 bags of suspected narcotics, was intercepted at Sekasua in the Eastern Region.
The Kia Truck with registration number ER-760-23 was intercepted on September 30, 2025, by some officers from the Eastern Regional Police Headquarters.
“A search in the truck revealed that the vehicle, which was halfway filled with sawdust, also had thirty-six (36) sacks of dried substances suspected to be narcotics,” the police said in a statement.
“After conveying the vehicle and its contents to the Sekasua Police station, the suspect driver and his mate managed to escape, abandoning their truck. Efforts have since been intensified to get the two suspects re-arrested.”
The drugs are being held at the Eastern Regional Command while a manhunt has been launched for the two suspects.
Meanwhile, the police debunked reports that the 36 sacks have turned into sawdust.
