Dreams Face Zamalek In CAF Cup Semis
Dreams FC after qualifying to the semi-finals of the CAF Confederation Cup will face Egyptian side Zamalek Sporting Club.
The encounter between five-time CAF Champions League winners Zamalek and CAF competition debutant Dreams is with much anticipation.
The first leg will be played on April 21 in Egypt and the second on April 28 in Ghana.
The feat for Dreams is Ghana’s first semifinal qualification in 20 years and comes after the Still Believe lads held Stade Malien in a 1-1 stalemate at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium on Sunday.
They advanced on a 3-2 aggregate after their 2-1 victory in the first leg.
Head Coach Karim Zito is not satisfied with the feat achieved so far as he is eyeing the “ultimate”.
In a post-match press conference, he said “We will not let the qualification put us down, we are going to prepare…I think people will take us seriously now, but we are going for the ultimate.”
Al Zamalek have won the CAF Champions League five times and the CAF Confederations Cup once, that was in 2019.
