Double Track System Still In Force- GES

The Ghana Education Service (GES) has dispelled reports that the double Track system in senior high schools have been abolished.

In statement, it clarified that the academic calendar had not fully transitioned into single track system.

“In the spirit of transparent and honest communication, the Ghana Education Service (GES) wishes to clarify that the 2025/2026 academic calendar has 𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝗳𝘂𝗹𝗹𝘆 𝗿𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗼 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗴𝗹𝗲-𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗰𝗸 𝘀𝘆𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗺, as reported in some sections of the media.”

It noted that the academic calendar makes clear provision for both 𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗴𝗹𝗲-𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗰𝗸 and 𝗱𝗼𝘂𝗯𝗹𝗲-𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗰𝗸 schools.

 

It noted that the 2025/2026 academic year officially begins on 𝗦𝗮𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗱𝗮𝘆, 𝟭𝟴𝘁𝗵 𝗢𝗰𝘁𝗼𝗯𝗲𝗿 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟱, when all first-year students are expected to report.

The academic year will end on 𝗔𝘂𝗴𝘂𝘀𝘁 21, 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲 for single-track schools and 𝗦𝗲𝗽𝘁𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿 4, 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲 for double-track schools.
