Don’t Use Your Political Power to Settle Scores; Archbishop Duncan Williams to Mahama’s Appointtees

Archbishop Nicolas Duncan Williams has counselled appointees of President John Dramani Mahama against abusing the political power the National Democratic Congress hold in the country.

Delivering a sermon at the President’s Fellowship with Clergymen on February 28, 2025, he emphasised that the political power is principally meant to improve the living standards of the citizens.

He therefore warned that misapplying it could have a dire implication for the offender.

“Don’t be vindictive. Don’t pay evil for evil. Don’t sit to settle scores with anybody and do not use the victory and the glory of this President to settle scores with anyone because there are implications for that.”

“When you use power entrusted to you for the benefit of people to settle scores and to prove a point, there are serious implications,” he added.

Meanwhile, he commended the President for his humility and recognition of humanity.

The fellowship was held at the Accra International Conference Centre (AICC).

This is in fulfilment of the President’s promise to hold monthly fellowship meetings with the country’s clergy.
