Don’t Use Fabu Census Money To Pay Accident Victims- Chairman K5 Tells Kotoko CEO
The former Board member of Asante Kotoko SC, Chairman Kwaku Amponsah has pleaded with the Chief Executive Officer of the Ghanaian giants, Nana Yaw Amponsah not to use Fabu Census money to pay the compensation of Kotoko accident victims.
The Porcupine Warriors are yet to compensate players who were involved in an accident in 2017 when the team was returning from a league game against International Allies.
The accident, which occurred on the Nkawkaw-Nanchia highway, is feared to have happened after a truck on its way to Tamale which was loaded with fertiliser run into the speeding Kumasi Asante Kotoko bus leaving the bus terribly mangled.
The gory accident left several members of the team injured and one member, Deputy Equipment Officer, Thomas Obeng Asare lost his life.
Recently, the Chief Executive Officer has responded to the call of the victims for compensation, assuring that they are working to alleviate their situation with Fabu Census which comes from the monthly contributions of Asante Kotoko supporters.
But Chairman Kwaku Amponsah has stated irrevocably that the Chief Executive Officer of the club should not use the money for that.
According to him, the supporters are contributing for the club to buy quality players and not to pay accident victims.
“I have heard that Nana Yaw Amponsah wants to use Fabu Census money to compensate the accident victims but we will plead with him not to do that,” Chairman K5 said on Opemsuo Radio.
He continued; “We are contributing for the club to get enough funds to buy quality players for us and not to pay accident victims. He should not do that!
