Don’t Purchase and Consume Grand Chateaux Sangria Forte Drinks- FDA

The Food and Drugs Authority (FDA) has cautioned the public against purchasing and consuming some flagged Grand Chateaux Sangria Forte drinks which have found their way onto the Ghanaian market.
According to the Authority, the 250ml Tetra Pak and the 330ml canned Pétillante advertised on social media are unregistered, making their sale and distribution illegal.
Additionally, the FDA is concerned that the packaging and size of these products may mislead and expose children to potential accidental alcohol ingestion.
It has therefore recalled the products from the market.
Warning Ghanaians against its consumption, the FDA also warned retailers and wholesalers to immediately cease distribution and sale of these products.
“All stocks should be returned to the nearest outlets of Cave and Garden Ghana Limited and FDA’s offices nationwide. The importer has been sanctioned, and regulatory measures are being enforced.”
It added, “The FDA remains committed to protecting health and safety and urges the public to report any information regarding the sale of this product via its official communication channels.”
