Don’t Fall For Extortion- Asantehene to Nananom with Pending Cases

The Occupant of the Golden Stool, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, has warned traditional authorities with pending cases to exercise vigilance against extortion ploys.

His Majesty cautioned against paying money to either expedite or get a favourable ruling.

Otumfuo sounded this word of caution to alert Nanaom at the first Asanteman Council meeting on January 19, 2026.

His Majesty stated that these theatrics are fraudulent and must be avoided.

“Anyone who promises to help you to bring your case before me for resolution or get you a favourable verdict is a liar. Don’t fall for that.”

Meanwhile, Otumfuo stated that gifts presented to him will in no way influence verdicts.

“And if you brought gifts to me during the festive season, don’t think that will influence me to deliver a verdict in your favour. We will stand by the truth. Be clear on that.”
