Document Says Aisha Huang Was “Repatriated”
A document from the Ghana Immigration Service (GIS) has revealed that Aisha Huang was repatriated from Ghana.
The repatriation, according to the document, took place in December 2018.
The document has the details of Aisha Huang.
Many Ghanaians are curious about what happened to Chinese ‘galamsey kingpin’ Aisha Huang between 2017 and 2018 when she was arrested by Ghanaian authorities and put on trial for engaging in illegal mining in the country.
The question has come up this year after she was rearrested in Ghana.
In 2018, Ghanaians were made to believe that she was deported to her home country.
The government’s spokesperson on Governance and Security, Palgrave Boakye Danquah in an interview last week said she was deported.
Prosecutors of Aisha Huang on the other hand say she was sneaked out of the country while her case was ongoing in court in 2017.
Last Monday, President Akufo-Addo admitted he was not sure whether she fled the country or was deported.
