Division Two League Player Falls to Death During Game
Ignatius Bosompem, a player of Division Two side Young Madrid FC, has died after collapsing on the pitch over the weekend.
The incident that has sent shockwaves across the football fraternity occurred during a game against Naajo Royals FC.
In a statement, the Ghana Football Association (GFA) conveyed its commiseration and solidarity to the bereaved family and club.
“The President, the Executive Council and the General Secretary, together with the Western Regional Football Association (WRFA), join the entire football fraternity in mourning the loss of this promising talent. The GFA stands firmly with the bereaved family, Young Madrid FC and the WRFA during this difficult period.”
The Football Association said it remained in close contact with WRFA leadership to provide the necessary support and assistance following the unfortunate incident.
Meanwhile, it urged the football community to keep the family and all affected in their thoughts and prayers as they navigate this difficult and painful time.
