Deputy General Secretary of NPP Defends ‘Misconduct’ In Parliament.
The Deputy General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Lawyer Nana Obiri Boahen has emphatically described the series of confrontations and chaos during the inauguration of the eighth parliament as no big deal.
Speaking on Nkwantananso on Opemsuo FM, hosted by Agudey, he admitted what happened was not right, however he said we must learn as a country going forward.
He went ahead to say, “it could be just a joke. For instance when Ursula sat on Akandoh’s lap, people spoke a lot about it. But it was a joke…people have to understand when they do such things. They are human beings.”
According to him, the presence of the military in parliament during the inauguration of the eighth Parliament is not a taboo.
“Why do you always treat the military as an outcast? Aren’t they our brothers and fathers? We should stop looking down on them because of politics. What is wrong with it, when a soldier barges into a place of mayhem?”
