Democracy Cup: Ogum Pats Players for “Master Showpiece” against Hearts

The Head Coach of the Asante Kotoko Sporting Club, Dr Prosper Narteh Ogum, has congratulated the players for their “Master Showpiece” performance against Accra Hearts of Oak in the Democracy Cup.

Kotoko nailed their arch-rivals by 2-1 in the maiden edition of the game that was hosted at the Accra Sports Stadium two weeks ago.

The team was supervised by Assistant Coach David Ocloo at a time when the Head Coach was recovering from a surgical operation.

On his first meeting with the team since his surgery on August 1, 2024, he commended the players for their satisfactory output on the pitch despite the short training session.

“I would like to congratulate all of you here for the wonderful performance and the victory you put up against Hearts of Oak in the Democracy Cup. It’s a master showpiece. We regrouped for a few days both new and old players but then you played as if you guys have been together for a very long time.”

He believes if the same effort is invested into their training ahead of the next season which starts in September, the title will not be far from their reach.

“It’s a clear indication that if you put in that same commitment you put in within those few days for the training that you did over here, we will be able to do a marvellous job at the end of the season. Congratulations and keep up the good work. The future looks brighter.”
