Delayed AG’s Advice Forces Court to Adjourn Lil Win Case
The Asokore Mampong District Court had no option but to adjourn as the advice of the Office of the Attorney-General on the case involving actor Kwadwo Nkansah, popularly known as Lil Win was not ready when it was called on Thursday.
The actor after his arrest was arraigned in court on June 3, 2024, where he was released on a GH¢50,000 bail with two sureties.
He has been charged with dangerous driving, negligently causing harm and the use of an unregistered branded car after his car killed a toddler at Amakom in the Ashanti Region.
The court on Thursday, June 27 called the case; however, JoyNews reports that Assistant Superintendent of Police, Emelia Owusu Ansah, told the court they had sent the docket to the Attorney General’s department for study and advice
The case has since been adjourned to July 29, 2024.
Accident
An accident on Saturday, May 25, 2024, at Amakom in the Ashanti Region involving the vehicle of the actor, claimed the life of a three-year-old.
Eyewitnesses said Lil Win was speeding and veering off his lane into an oncoming vehicle.
The boy who at the time was in his father’s vehicle was rushed alongside his father to the Anwiam Hospital. They were both referred to the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH) where the boy eventually died.
Arrest
Lil Win was arrested on Monday, June 3, 2024, following his discharge from the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH) by the Manhyia Divisional Police Command’s Motor Transport and Traffic Directorate (MTTD) officers.
Videos on his arrest showed the actor being escorted towards the police vehicle in a wheelchair with a neck brace and decorated in bandages on some body parts.
