Date To Vet Finance Minister Designate Rescheduled
The Finance Minister, Hon. Ken Ofori-Atta through the Ministry of Finance has notified that it is awaiting new date from the leadership of Parliament to be vetted.
The Finance Ministry ‘duly informed the leadership of Parliament about the inability of the Minister to show up before the Appointment Committee of Parliament according to a statement.
Mr. Ofori-Atta was scheduled to appear before Parliament’s Appointment Committee together with Ambrose Dery, Interior Minister Designate and Hon. Kwasi Amoako-Atta today, 16th February, 2021.
However, according to a statement issued by the Public Relations Unit of the Ministry spotted by Opemsuo.com, indicated that he was out of the country to seek medical treatment following complications he has been experiencing after recovery from COVID-19 in December.
This means the vetting of the minister will have to wait till March since the statement indicated that he will be in the United States for two weeks.
The ministry said it is awaiting a new date for the minister to go through vetting.
