Dampare Pats Officers for Professionalism during AU Meeting
The Inspector General of Police, Dr George Akufo Dampare has commended his men for displaying professionalism in the discharge of their respective duties during the African Union (AU) meetings held in the country.
In a statement, he expressed his gratitude to police officers.
“The Inspector-General of Police, Dr George Akuffo Dampare and the members of the Police Management Board (POMAB) would like to express their gratitude to all Police officers who played diverse roles in providing security and ensuring the safety of all persons and properties during the 45th Ordinary session of the Executive Council and the 6th meeting of the 2024 African Union Commission which was held from July 17 to 21st July 2024 in Accra.”
He recognised that they displayed commitment and patriotism in their service.
“We are grateful to you for your professionalism and patriotic commitment to duty.”
The police boss also thanked motorists for their cooperation with the police.
“We also wish to thank all motorists, the commuting public and all other road users for your patience and cooperation during the period.”
Accra last week hosted the 45th Ordinary Session of the AU Executive Council and the 6th mid-year Coordination meeting of the AU Regional Economic Communities.
The meetings ended on July 21.
Ghana was approved to host the meetings at the 37th Ordinary session of the Assembly of Heads of States and Government of the AU held earlier this year.
