Czech President Arrives in Ghana

The President of the Czech Republic, His Excellency Petr Pavel, has arrived in Ghana on a three-day working visit.

A video portrayed the arrival of the 63-year-old at the Kotoka International Airport (KIA) on Tuesday, April 8, 2025, where he was welcomed with a bouquet of flowers.

Officially receiving him at the airport was Julius Debrah, the Chief of Staff of President John Dramani Mahama.

The visit will be the first by a Czech President since diplomatic relations were established between Ghana and then Czechoslovakia in October 1959.

Per his itinerary, President Pavel will hold bilateral talks with President Mahama; address a business forum; inaugurate a Czech-funded health facility; and visit the Osu Castle and Kwame Nkrumah Memorial Park.

A statement issued by the Presidency also said President Mahama will host a State Dinner in honour of the visiting Head of State.

It will also be the first State Visit hosted by President Mahama since his return to the Presidency in January 2025.
