Cyber Security Authority Announces Establishment of Four Zonal Offices

The Cyber Security Authority (CSA) has concluded a three-day Functional Leads Retreat, with key resolutions aimed at strengthening Ghana’s cybersecurity framework, including plans to establish four zonal offices across the country.

In a bid to safeguard Ghana’s digital ecosystem, effectively combat cybercrime, and enhance public awareness, four zonal offices of the CSA will be established in Kumasi, Ho, Cape Coast, and Tamale.

These offices will oversee cybersecurity operations within the middle, coastal, eastern, and northern zones, as plans are underway to expand coverage to other parts of the country.

Speaking at the retreat held in Aburi in the Eastern Region, the Minister for Communication, Digital Technology and Innovations, Mr Samuel Nartey George, noted that the government recognises the critical role cybersecurity plays in the digital economy, especially amid the rising incidence of cybercrime across the country.

He explained that the establishment of the new offices forms part of a national strategy to strengthen cybersecurity awareness and clamp down on cybercrime syndicates.

The Minister also urged CSA staff to remain committed to the Authority’s mandate and assured them of improved working conditions.

The Director-General of the CSA, Mr Divine Selase Agbeti, shared the Authority’s strategic vision, “Leading Africa in Cybersecurity Excellence (LACE),” and encouraged the staff to lead with integrity, purpose, and professionalism to achieve this goal.

As part of the retreat, participants received training in Appreciative Inquiry Leadership and Public Financial Management to further enhance institutional effectiveness and leadership capacity.
