“Cut-down; use few PPE available wisely”- KATH CEO tells Staff


 
Staff of the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH) particularly Frontline Healthcare worker, with respect to COVID-19 has been admonished to use their supplied Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) from the government and other non-governmental organizations judiciary.
“If you are using ten in a week, know that there is more pressure on the little we have now. Cut down the numbers and them judiciary to our benefits”, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the facility, Dr. Oheneba Owusu Danso pleaded.

 
According to CEO who spoke on Manhyia-based Opemsuo FM, COVID-19 pandemic has brought pressure on advanced countries such as UK, Italy in terms of healthcare consumables such as PPE and staff of the facility should see it as such and manage the few available PPE in the system.
“Even advance countries are managing so we all have to know that the PPE we have today is protecting live and I must take good care of it”, Dr. Oheneba Owusu Danso told host George Opoku Mensah Agudey adding: “every manager must manage the resources”.
 

Meanwhile several Non-Governmental Agencies and individuals including former President John Dramani Mahama donated 50 sets of PPE and 50 pairs of Gum Boots to KATH to support Health Workers at the Facility in our national efforts to defeat COVID-19.
Dr. Oheneba Owusu Danso, received the items on behalf of the Hospital and expressed his appreciation for those kind gesture from the people.
