CSA Pulls Down Explicit Videos of Young Women, Goes After Perpetrators

The Cyber Security Authority (CSA) is on a manhunt for persons behind the sharing of a viral, explicit video of some young women allegedly from Kpando on Telegram.

In a statement, the acting Director-General of the Authority, Divine Selase Agbeti, said the videos were shared on various social media platforms, particularly through a known Telegram channel.

“The said Telegram link has since been taken down through the efforts of the CSA in collaboration with its partners,” he said.

“Investigations are currently ongoing to identify the individuals responsible for these acts, and the CSA will take all necessary actions to ensure that the perpetrators are brought to book.”

The CSA further cautioned the general public against sharing, reposting, or circulating these videos.

It emphasised that the act is a criminal offence under the Cybersecurity Act to distribute explicit or intimate content of any person without their consent, and such actions attract severe legal sanctions.

It added, “The CSA takes this opportunity to assure the general public of its continued commitment to protecting citizens online, safeguarding digital rights, and promoting a safe and responsible cyberspace for all.”
