Court Injuncts Planned ‘Celebration of Life’ for Daddy Lumba

An Accra High Court has granted an interlocutory injunction against the organisation, promotion, or hosting of the planned “Celebration of Life” for late musician Daddy Lumba.

A statement by the lawyers of the family head, Victor Kofi Owusu, popularly known as Abusua Panin Tupac, reported that the Court had prohibited any attempt to proceed with the ‘Celebration of Life’ or any such event.

The legal team, therefore, cautioned venue providers and active participants not to defy the order, affirming that violation would be punishable by law.

“We shall not hesitate to initiate committal proceedings against any individual who seeks to undermine the sanctity of the Court for contempt.”

The ‘Celebration of Life’ was planned by a section of the family of the musician, including Akosua Serwaa Schindler (Fosuh), Ernestina Fosuh (Brempomaa) and one Wofa Yaw Poku.

The family delegated the planning and organising to Nana Yaw Akosa, also known as Papa Shee, a friend of Daddy Lumba.

The event was originally scheduled to take place on Saturday, March 28, and Sunday, March 29, 2026, at Independence Square, Accra.
