Coronavirus: Thousands Flown Home In 2020
Foreign Affairs Minister, Shirley Ayorkor Botchwey, has revealed that US$44,460,530 was used in repatriating Ghanaians across the globe home during the upsurge of Coronavirus worldwide in 2020.
Addressing Parliament upon the demand by Member of Parliament for North Tongu Constituency, Okudzeto Ablakwa, the Minister said the exercise which began on May 23, 2020, ended on September 18, 2020.
Shirley Ayorkor Botchwey said Ghanaians were flown home from: the United Arab Emirates, the United Kingdom, South Korea, United States of America, Saudi Arabia, Iraq, Lebanon, Israel, Kuwait, Germany Qatar, Ukraine, Canada, the Netherlands and Egypt.
Others are: Nigeria, Mauritania, Burkina Faso, South Africa, Benin, Cote d’Ivoire, Turkey, India, Togo Ethiopia, Senegal, Angola, Kenya, Belgium, Russia, Cuba, Sierra Leone, Zimbabwe, Mozambique, DR Congo, Niger, Mali, Equatorial Guinea, Liberia and Libya.
