COP Kofi Boakye praises Otumfuo for his impact on Asanteman
Retired Ashanti Regional Police Commander, COP Kofi Boakye has lauded His Majesty Otumfuo Osei Tutu II for his significant contributions to Asanteman, emphasizing the King’s profound influence on a global scale.
Speaking to Opemsuo Radio’s Kofi Boakye, he commended Otumfuo for elevating the reputation of the Asantes worldwide through his exemplary deeds.
“Forget about the Education Fund. There are tangible and intangibles. Tangibles are the things you can see, intangibles are the spirit. If you look at how Otumfuo Osei has made Asante known worldwide, look at how he met King Charles. King Charles has been here in Ghana twice; which town has he been to?”
The former police commander urged Asantes to express gratitude to Otumfuo for his selfless service, noting that despite not taking taxes, the King initiates and oversees numerous developmental projects in his kingdom.
“Ghanaians must be thankful to Otumfuo. People say Asanteman, but the King doesn’t collect taxes. All he can do is advise the government to take action. If the government fails to act, he can do nothing. That’s what motivates him to take action when necessary,” Boakye stated.
He further emphasized that beyond Otumfuo’s royal title, he is a special individual whose impact extends far beyond the confines of the Golden Stool.
