Controller and Accountant-General Defers Payment of Two Allowances For Education Sector Staff

The Controller and Accountant-General’s Department has deferred the payment of two allowances for teaching and non-teaching staff this month.

In a statement, it said the allowances scheduled for payment in November 2025 could not be processed due to a technical hitch encountered during the final payroll run.

It explained that the decision to defer the payment was to avoid any delay in the payment of the November salary.

“To avoid any further delay in the payment of November 2025 salaries for all Government of Ghana workers, the processing of these allowances was paused.”

It plans to make the payment alongside the December salary.

“We assure all affected workers that the issue is being resolved. The outstanding allowances will be paid together with the December 2025 salaries on 18th December 2025.”

Meanwhile, the Controller apologised for the inconvenience caused.
