CLOGSAG Suspends Industrial Action

The Civil and Local Government Staff Association of Ghana (CLOGSAG) has announced a suspension of its industrial action.
The decision was taken by the National Executive Council on March 17, 2026, after considering an appeal by the government for 14 days to resolve their grievances.
“EXECO has therefore suspended the nationwide strike. All members of CLOGSAG are to report to work by March 24,” the Executive Secretary, Isaac Bampoe Addo, on March 17, 2026, at a press conference.
The industrial action was triggered on March 9 due to the Association’s frustration over the delay in executing the agreed terms, despite what it said were extensive negotiations and official approval three years ago.
The CLOGSAG stated that two separate Memoranda of Understanding (MOUs) regarding salary structures, allowances, and other benefits from the negotiations have yet to be implemented.
The Association felt “taken for granted” and thereby deems the strike action as the appropriate means to seek a remedy.
