Clean Environment Can Help Minimize Flooding
The District Meteorological Officer in Kumasi, Mr. Kwame Ofori Agyemang, has advised Ghanaians to help minimize flooding by keeping the environment clean.
Speaking on Opemsuo Radio’s on Thursday, September 2, 2021, he said, “The rains find it difficult to move in gutters since they are always choked. Authorities should therefore develop the habit of cleaning gutters regularly”.
The Meteorologist explained that, “the rainfall being experienced today was noticed yesterday around 9:30pm on the Benin-Togo border and the Volta Region experienced it late yesterday”.
He noted that Ghana will be experiencing rainfall in the month of September and October this year so Ghanaians are supposed to prepare towards it by patronising the use of umbrella and rain coat.
