Church-Government Partnership Needed to Fight Joblessness – Ashanti Regional Minister

The Ashanti Regional Minister, Dr. Frank Amoakohene, has called on churches to collaborate with the government to create job opportunities, particularly in the agricultural sector.
According to the minister, churches can play a significant role in generating employment through agricultural projects such as farming and livestock production.
Speaking to Adwoa Serwaa Yonkodo, an Opemsuo News reporter, at the 10th Anniversary Celebration of the Ashanti Central Ghana Conference of the Seventh-day Adventist Church at Wesley College of Education, Dr. Amoakohene revealed that the government will submit a proposal to churches, guiding them on how to engage with the government for support in the agriculture sector.
He further encouraged the SDA Church to consider the government’s call to create job opportunities through agriculture.
Meanwhile, Pastor Robert Osei Bonsu, President of the West-Central Africa Division of the Seventh-day Adventist Church, urged Ghanaians to support the government in the fight against illegal mining (galamsey).
He warned that while galamsey may offer short-term financial gains for individuals involved, it has severe long-term consequences for future generations and the country as a whole.
“Let your conscience speak to you, so you care about the future of our unborn generation,” Pastor Bonsu advised those engaged in illegal mining.
Representing Otumfuo at the event was Sawuahene, Nana Kwaku Amankwa Sarkodie II.
