Chief and Queen of Asokore Mampong Pass On

The Nifa Division of the Kumasi Traditional Council (KTC) is mourning the passing of the chief of Asokore Mampong, Nana Boakye Ansah Debra and his Queen, Nana Saman Diawuo.

The Chief who until his demise was the Head of the Nifa Division passed away days after the Queen died, it was announced on March 18, 2025, by the Division and the Asokore Mampong Council.

At a press conference, Nana Boakye Yam Ababio, Nkwantakesehene, said “Nana Saman Diawuo, Asokore Mamponghemaa, has passed away. It was not until a few days later that Nana Boakye Deborah also passed away. That is why we have gathered here today.”

Their One Week celebration will be held on April 10.

“We have agreed that on April 10 we will hold the One Week celebration of both leaders. We invite all to join us to honour the traditional leaders. It can be attested that Asokore Mamponghene’s influence transcended his jurisdiction. He served Asanteman.”

The architect by profession ruled for 38 years while the Queen reigned for 52 years.
