Check Your Settings If Your Data Bundle Depletes Swiftly- Communication Minister

The Minister for Communication, Digital Technology and Innovations, Samuel Nartey George, says persons complaining about the swift depletion of subscribed data bundles must check the settings of their phone.

Since the implementation of improved data bundles offered by Mobile Network Operators (MNOs), there have been concerns about their fast depletion, which seems to dent the initiative that was initially hailed.

Many have taken to social media to express concern.

However, the sector minister who spearheaded the improved data negotiations with the telcos says the fast depletion has no link with the improved data.

“That’s not backed by any evidence. You realise someone like DKB came out the other day complaining, and when I instructed an investigation, he came back to retract.”

He noted that subscribers must check their mobile settings.

“People need to check their settings and be sure about the claims they are making. There is no evidence to show your claims are real.”
