C/R: Man In Police Custody Over Viral Assault of Ex-girlfriend

A man in his 40s has found himself on the wrong side of the law after he appeared in a viral video assaulting his ex-girlfriend, with whom he shares a child.

A police statement said he was arrested on March 27, 2026.

“The Central Regional Police Command has sighted a video that went viral and has arrested the 40-year-old man, Samuel Bills Acquah, for allegedly assaulting a 30-year-old woman in Cape Coast,” the police reported.

Police proceeded to the crime scene upon receipt of the report and arrested the suspect.

“He is currently in police custody, assisting with the investigation.”

The suspect is expected to be arraigned before a court on March 30, 2026, for prosecution.
