Brig Gen Ogaja Replaces Brig Gen Opoku as Central Command Boss

A new military head has been appointed to the Central Command by President John Dramani Mahama.
This was announced by the Ashanti Regional Minister, Dr Frank Amoakohene, in a statement on May 14.
According to him, Brigadier General Ogaja will replace the outgoing General Officer Commanding (GOC), Brigadier General Michael Opoku.
The outgoing and incoming officers paid a visit to the Minister at the RCC.
“Today at the RCC, I welcomed the newly appointed General Officer Commanding (GOC) for the Region and the Central Command.”
While expressing deep appreciation to the outgoing GOC for his dedicated service and invaluable contributions to peace and security, the Minister encouraged the incoming GOC to build on this legacy and work even harder in the service of the region and Ghana.
“We look forward to continued collaboration in safeguarding the stability and development of our beloved region and Nation.”
Brigadier General Opoku was appointed by former President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo in 2024.
