Break: Kotoko Appoints Leonard Akoto To Beef Up Technical Team
Asante Kotoko Management has beefed up the club’s technical team following the appointment of a new physical trainer.
The Ghanaian giants have been without a qualified physical instructor to take the players through various drills to keep their fitness close to a season.
The appointment of Leonard Akoto, the Chief Executive Officer of Burnit Fitness Ghana will help the players as they prepare for the 2020/21 season.
The Strength and Conditioning coach role in a team has been diversified over the years to include warm-ups, mobility, speed sessions, aerobic sessions, anaerobic sessions, conditioning games, strongman, cognitive skill development, hypertrophy sessions, strength sessions, velocity based sessions, agility, hydration monitoring, recovery sessions and post game training.
The ‘Reds’ have already commenced pre-season training ahead of the new season as they aim to win the Ghana Premier League.
The Porcupine Warriors are busy on the market to augment their squad for the CAF Champions League and Ghana Premier League in other to at least win a silverware this season.
Apart from augmenting the technical team, Asante Kotoko Management has already secured the services of three new players namely; Defensive midfielder, Emmanuel Kayekeh, Central Defender, Mubarik Yussif, and Left-back, Patrick Asmah.
