Boana Community Raise Funds for Road Construction
Residents of Boana Farming Community in the Nkoranza district have taken matters into their own hands by raising funds for the bad road network that has been causing hardship for pregnant women and sick residents in the area.
According to Hon. Michael Obour, the Assemblyman, the community is facing a setback in road construction as contractors have retrieved their equipment with no known timeline for return.
The Boana community has adopted a unique fundraising approach for the road construction, with gender-based contributions of GHS 30 for women and GHS 50 for men.
The donations will be used to contract the road and improve the living conditions of residents.
Despite economic hardships, residents have been praised by Hon. Michael Obour for their selfless donations towards enhancing school infrastructure.
He urged the government and prominent individuals to assist the Boana community in building a health facility to provide adequate medical care for residents.
