Black Stars Will Qualify For World Cup- Joseph Paintsil

Ghana international and LA Galaxy winger Joseph Paintsil is hopeful that the Black Stars will make it to the 2026 World Cup tournament.

If Ghana qualify, it will be an opportunity for him to make his debut, a feat he eagerly hopes to reach.

The 26-year-old believes that like himself, all other players of the Black Stars will give their best to feature on the world stage.

“I’m positive that Black Stars will qualify for the World Cup because it’s something that’s really dear to me, I also want to play in the World Cup. I never had the opportunity to play in the World Cup.”

He intends not only to represent his country and himself but his family, and friends.

“So me going to the field, I need to give everything, so that’s the most important thing and every player is going to do the same thing,” he told GHOne TV in an interview.

After failing to qualify for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations tournament following an abysmal showpiece, there are doubts that the Otto Addo-led team will do any better at the World Cup qualification.

Ghana hold nine points in second place in Group I. In their last games in June 2024, they defeated Mali in Bamako by 2-1 and the Central Africa Republic by 4:3 at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium.

They next face Chad on March 19 and Madagascar on March 22.
