Black Starlets Step Up AFCON U-17 Preparations with Training Camp in Samreboi

Ghana’s Ghana U-17, known as the Black Starlets, began training in Samreboi on Thursday as they intensify preparations for the upcoming U-17 Africa Cup of Nations scheduled to be held in Morocco.

The young side held their opening workout at the Nsenkyire Sports Arena, where the technical team continued to fine-tune the squad ahead of the continental competition.

Head coach Prosper Narteh Ogum together with his assistant Nana Kweku Agyemang used the training session to further evaluate the players while working on areas that need improvement before the tournament.

As part of their preparations, the Starlets will play two friendly matches against FC Samartex 1996 this weekend. They will first face the club’s youth team on Saturday, March 14, 2026, with kickoff scheduled for 16:00 GMT.

The following day, Sunday March 15, the team will again take to the same venue to face Samartex’s senior side, also at 16:00 GMT, in another test game designed to sharpen the squad.

The upcoming friendlies follow encouraging results recorded by the team in Accra where they secured victories over Attram De Visser, Semper Fi FC and Port City FC.

With the tournament fast approaching, the Black Starlets remain focused in camp as they aim to perform strongly in Morocco and secure qualification for the FIFA U-17 World Cup.
