Black Queens To Host Zambia In Olympics Qualifiers
The Black Queens of Ghana will host the Copper Queens of Zambia next week at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in the third round of the 2024 Paris Olympics Qualifiers.
After qualifying for the second round of the Olympics in October 2023, Coach Nora Hauptle’s side will need to strive in the next round to qualify for the last round to decide their fate for the ultimate.
They will lock horns with Zambia on February 23 before a return leg on February 28 in Ndola in Zambia.
The Ghanaians have been impressive in the qualifiers so far winning all games played and conceding no goal.
In their first game against Guinea, they won by 3:0 before their 4:0 victory at home.
Their second game was no different as they pipped Benin 3:0 away from home and 2:0 at home.
The Copper Queens have already named their provisional squad for the game with Coach Hauptle yet to release hers.
On Friday, the Ghana Football Association (GFA) disclosed the head coach travelled to Spain in hopes of securing the services of Real Sociedad’s Jacqueline Owusu for the clash next week Friday.
The Queens have already qualified for the Women’s African Cup of Nations (WAFCON) in Morocco after last qualifying in 2018.
