Black Queens Take On Rwanda In Return Leg Tomorrow
The Black Queens will lock horns with the She-Amavubi of Rwanda in their home on Tuesday after humbling them in a 7:0 opening of the Women’s African Cup of Nations (WAFCON) qualifier at the Kigali Pelè stadium in Kigali last week.
The visitors will be hosted at the Accra Sports Stadium in the country’s capital, Accra, at 4 p.m.
Ahead of the game, the President of the Ghana Football Association, Kurt Edwin Simeon-Okraku visited the camp of the Queens to congratulate them on their emphatic win in the first game.
“I will say ayekoo to you for the sacrifices and the good work you are doing towards Ghana’s qualification. If you are a member of this family, I am sure you are already proud of yourself. Ghana is appreciative and proud of what you’re doing and that should be your first line of satisfaction” President Simeon-Okraku the FA’s website cites him.
He also encouraged them for the second game.
“This mission is to make the Nation great and strong. We want to restore the pride of the country. We want to return to the times when Ghana qualified for the World Cup and the Black Queens showed up”.
“We have a clear mission to go back to the AFCON and to win an AFCON trophy. I have no doubt we have the right levels of talent to make it all the way but talent alone is not enough,” he told the Queens during a visit with some executives of the FA.
