Black Queens Squad For WAFCON Qualifier Against Rwanda Named

The head coach of the Black Queens, Nora Häuptle, has unveiled 23 players for the 2024 Women African Cup of Nations (WAFCON) qualifier against Rwanda.

The match will be held on September 20 at the Kigali Pelè stadium in Kigali.

Coach Nora’s squad include both local and foreign club players.

They include Abambila Ernestina, Achiaa Anaesthesia, Vivian Adjei Konadu, Grace Acheampong, Princella Adubea, Adama Alhassan, Susan Ama Duah, Mary Amposah, Grace Asantewaa, Gifty Assifuah, Evelyne Badu, Doris Boaduaa, Portia Boakye, Azumah Bugre, Jennifer Cudjo and Janet Egyir.

The rest are Linda Eshun, Cynthia Konlan, Alice Kusi, Kerrie McCarthy, Stella Nyamekye, Safiatu Salifu and Justice Tweneboaa.

Winger Alice Kusi returns to the squad after an injury while Midfielder Grace Acheampong also gets a call after a long absence.

The date for camping for the Queens wasn’t communicated, however, the Ghana Football Association says the Queens will begin camping and training ahead of the departure for Kigali on September 17.
