Beware of “Sakawa” Boys- EOCO

The Ghanaian public has been encouraged to portray vigilance in the face of the prevalent activities of fraudsters engaged in romance scams also known as “sakawa boys”.
A post by the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO) noted that their activities are illegal and thereby punishable by law.
It therefore urged them to take note of the red flags to avoid falling victim.
“Do you know the red flags to look out for when dealing with a fraud boy, Sakawa boy or a romance scammer?”
Such red flags are to be reported via 0800- 910 910 or 0547- 419 419.
It emphasized, “Romance Fraud is a Crime, Your mind for Dey.”
