Be Attentive to Youth Upbringing; Otumfuo to Women Fellowship

Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II has realized the need for enhanced and comprehensive attention to the values, beliefs and behaviours that are imbibed in the upcoming children and youth as part of their nurturing.

Otumfuo raised the red flag when the Women’s Fellowship of the Ramseyer Presbyterian Church in Kumasi paid him a courtesy visit to invite him to their 80th-anniversary celebration.

In his submission, Otumfuo underscored the exceptional abilities of women which singles them out among men as well as their role in child upbringing.

“Women hold the church together. Their involvement in the work of the church is very crucial for development. The way women are groomed gives them this spectacular trait.”

His Majesty then noted that there is the need to watch the upcoming generation and relook at their upbringing to reflect the indigenous Ghanaian values.

“Focus your attention on the youth and the children. Teach them humility and respect because they represent our future.”

Invitation
The all-women delegation led by the Clerk of the Presbytery, Rev Samuel Adu-Gyamfi, informed Otumfuo about their anniversary celebration slated for July 21, 2024

An entourage sent by the Chairman of the Asante Presbytery, Rev Samuel Ahima Yeboah, formally informed Otumfuo about the anniversary and humbly requested for his presence during the fourth Awukudae festival of the year on June 5, 2024.

However, His Majesty indicated that he would be on a trip outside the country on the date scheduled for the event.

That notwithstanding, he will be duly represented at the event, he reassured them.
