Bawumia Promises Easier Passport Acquisition Process From 2025
The Vice President of Ghana, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia says passport application will be made easy and convenient beginning next year as he anticipates the stress and bureaucracy involved in the acquisition of the travel document will be a thing of the past.
This will be achieved through the Ghana card, he told the Ashanti Regional House of Chiefs on Monday, June 10, 2024.
The Ghana Card has all the relevant data that may be required to apply for a passport, according to him.
“Beginning next year, passport application will be made very simple and easy. There will be no need for a separate passport application. All you will need to do is walk into the office, pay for the passport and leave your Ghana Card number behind and the passport will be printed,” he explained.
