Chieftaincy Ministry Wants NABCO Personnel Out

A letter from the Ministry of Chieftaincy and Religious Affairs, sighted by opemsuo.com, depicts it no longer wants the services of personnel of the Nation Builders Corps (NABCO) in the ministry.

The letter to the registrar which is mistakenly dated “21st January 2021”, referenced October 2021 which was the initially scheduled date for the first batch of NABCO personnel to exit.

“This is to remind you that the Nation Builders Corps (NABCO) programme ended at the end of October 2021. Unfortunately, the information reaching the Hon Minister currently indicates that some trainees are still at post.

“You are kindly requested to relieve all the trainees of their current duties and allow them exit from the Service”, the letter said.

On October 29, 2021, the Ghana Standard Authority (GSA) directed all NABCO personnel to proceed on a mandatory two weeks leave as part of the exit plan for the programme.

However, in a letter dated November 15, 2021, the personnel were directed to remain at post “while the scheme and the Module Implementation Partners (MIPs) work toward a smooth final transition.

The Nation Builders Corps (NABCO) programme is a government initiative to address graduate unemployment to solve social problems. The focus of the initiative will be solving public service delivery in health, education, agriculture, technology, governance, and driving revenue mobilisation and collection.
