Bawku Curfew Reviewed To Nine Hours

The curfew imposed on conflict-torn Bawku has been reviewed by the government.
In a statement, the Minister for Interior said it had been reviewed to 9 hours from 12 hours.
“The Minister for the Interior, on the advice of the National Security Council and by Executive Instrument, has reviewed the curfew hours for Bawku Municipality and its environs in the Upper East Region from 𝟖:𝟎𝟎𝐩𝐦 𝐭𝐨 𝟓:𝟎𝟎𝐚𝐦.”
This took effect on 𝐀𝐮𝐠𝐮𝐬𝐭 𝟏𝟖, 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟓.
It added, “Government calls on the Chiefs, Elders, Opinion Leaders, Youth, and people of the area to exercise restraint in the face of the challenges confronting them, as well as to use non-violent means to channel their energies into ensuring peace.”
Meanwhile, it maintained the total ban on carrying arms, ammunition, or any offensive weapons, adding that any person found with any arms or ammunition will be arrested and prosecuted.
