Bantamahene to Oversee Kumasi as Otumfuo Travels on Tuesday

Baffour Owusu Amankwatia VI, Banatamahene, will take over the administration of Kumasi following Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, Asantehene’s planned trip to Accra next week.

He will be in charge from December 16, 2025 to December 17, 2025.

Asantehene announced this during a Kumasi Traditional Council meeting on December 11, 2025.

His Majesty noted that the visit to Accra was in connection with his mediation role in the protracted Bawku Conflict.

Otumfuo will, during the visit to the Jubilee House, present a report on his mediation in the conflict to President John Dramani Mahama.
