Baba Jamal Wins NDC Ayawaso East Primaries

High Commissioner to Nigeria, Baba Jamal Mohammed Ahmed, has emerged winner of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) parliamentary primary in the Ayawaso East Constituency.

This will pave the way for him to represent the party in the by-election on March 3.

The keenly contested primary today was held amid heightened attention following reports of alleged inducement and vote-buying involving some aspirants.

Voting proceeded under tight supervision by party officials and security personnel, with delegates turning out to cast their ballots.

Baba Jamal’s victory positions him as the NDC’s parliamentary candidate for the Ayawaso East by-election, a key contest in the Greater Accra Region, as the party seeks to retain the seat.

The NDC has reiterated its commitment to protecting the integrity of its internal democratic processes and ensuring that all aspirants adhere strictly to party rules and electoral guidelines.
