B/ER: Bus and Truck Collision Claims 9 Lives at Kintampo-Sronoase

Nine lives have perished following a collision between a passenger bus and a truck carrying provisions at Kintampo-Sronoase in the Bono East Region.
The accident involving the passenger bus with registration number GS 2564-20 and a Kia Rhino truck with registration GR 4958-K was recorded on April 3, 2026.
A total of 42 occupants were involved in the accodent, leaving several of them trapped in the wreckage.
A team of fire officers swiftly conducted extrication operations, rescuing 33 victims who were transported to the Kintampo Municipal Hospital.
“Seven (7) persons were confirmed dead at the scene, with two (2) additional deaths recorded at the hospital, bringing the total fatalities to nine (9),” the Ghana National Fire Service reported in a statement.
The deceased were handed over to the Police, who also assisted with traffic control.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
